Day 38 - Sion, Switzerland (One of my favorite trips, and some of the most impressive shots of God's creation!)

Before we started out to Sion, Switzerland, we came upon the Huemoz town donkey.

He was quite eager to eat some of our lunches. Not all of us liked carrots, so we indulged him.

This was just stinkin' cool. The ride we hitched was a futon carrier! Needless to day, the 30 minute drive out to Sion was quite comfortable.

This picture was taken out of the back of the van's window.

Now onto just some of the beautiful scenery of Sion...

The castle/monastery that we would soon be visiting

Tourbillon's fortress wall

A small chapel...thing...beside the castle/monastery

The valley. One of my favorites pictures.

...180 degrees in the other direction

Inside the monastery

Vineyards between the Tourbillon fortress (up the to left) and the castle/monastery (behind to the right).

The castle/monastery (A little crooked, I know.)

I thought I'd throw this one in for good measure.

On the way up to Tourbillon

Random people

The Rhone

Much better view of the castle/monastery

I know some of these are so amazing that they may seem fake, but they ARE real!

In the quite gardens of Tourbillon

Pretty much the best picture spot I've seen in my life

This was growing with almost no soil. Reminds me of Jesus's parable of the sower.

This was on the threshold of the remains of Tourbillon.

Back in the city

We decided to buy ice cream and eat it outside. We were looked at quite funny. We found out later from a German girl that it was pretty much some sort of folkway to just eat out in public like that. Oh well.

I made it my mission to take pictures of any McDonald's restaurants we found (if I remembered to take a picture of them).

On the way back. I'm pretty sure we took the train.

Some final panoramic shots...
